What is the ruling on using stolen eyeglasses, and is it obligatory to return them to their original owner despite the resulting damage?

If it becomes clear that what you possess is stolen property, it must be returned to its original owner, as you have no right to it. If you keep it after knowing the truth and being able to deliver it to its owner, then you are a partner with the thief in sin. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever finds his lost property with a man, he has a greater right to it, and the sale follows the one who sold it." Therefore, the stolen glasses must be returned to their owner, and their value claimed from the thief. Fear of problems should not prevent the return of rights, and they can be returned through another person.
