Is there a sin incurred by adopting the view that permits drawing only the upper half of animate beings?

If, for the questioner, the various scholarly opinions regarding an issue are equally trustworthy and supported by evidence, and no one opinion appears stronger to him, then he may follow any of them and choose the easiest one. However, if one opinion is stronger to him, or if its proponents are more trustworthy, then he must act upon that opinion.
