Is it permissible to perform the Duha prayer during the Dhuhr time if its original time has passed?

The time for Duha prayer has been explained previously. As for making it up if it is missed, there is a difference of opinion among scholars.
The Shafi'is and those who agreed with them deem it desirable to make up the Duha prayer after zawal (declination of the sun), whereas the Malikis and Abu Hanifa do not see the need to make it up.
