Is it obligatory to make up Duha prayer after its time has passed, even after Dhuhr prayer?

The time for Duha prayer is from when the sun has risen to the height of a spear until just before noon, meaning before the time of prohibition (when the sun is at its zenith) begins. Scholars differ on whether Duha prayer can be made up if its time has passed. Some scholars hold that it can be made up, and this is the correct view according to the Shafi'is and a view held by some Hanbalis. Others hold that it cannot be made up, and this is the old view of Imam Shafi'i and the doctrine of the Hanafis and Malikis. Those who say it can be made up cite the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it." Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen chose the view that it cannot be made up if its time has passed. The matter in this regard is flexible.
