Is it permissible to listen to the Qur’an with the intention of mercy and light for the souls of our deceased?

Scholars have differed concerning dedicating the reward of acts of worship to the dead. The correct view is that the dead benefit from every righteous deed whose reward is dedicated to them. Accordingly, listening to the recitation of the Holy Quran and dedicating its reward to the Muslim dead is permissible.
