Is it permissible to cover the head with an umbrella placed on the shoulder, leaving the hands free, during Hajj for protection from the sun's rays?

Scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition for a male pilgrim in the state of ihram to cover his head with anything that adheres to it, such as shirts and turbans, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying concerning the man who died while in ihram: "And do not cover his head," and his saying when asked about what a pilgrim in ihram may wear: "He shall not wear shirts or turbans." As for what does not adhere to the head, such as an umbrella or a car roof, there is no harm in it, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) action, and because it is permissible to carry belongings on the head as long as the intention is not to cover it.
