Why did Al-Bukhari not narrate the Friday sermons of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?

The narrations of the Companions about the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, covered all important details in the religion to complete it. These narrations are eyewitness accounts, in which the Companion focuses on the significant part he deems foundational for benefit, and not a complete recording of every moment. The demand to meticulously track all of the Prophet’s sermons is an excessive request that misses the objective of Hadith science. The Companions narrated many of his sermons, peace and blessings be upon him, and scholars compiled them in special works. Thus, the widespread notion that his sermons were lost and missing is a clear fallacy. Some biographical and historical books transmitted complete sermons of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, such such as his first sermon in Medina. Even if Imam al-Bukhari did not include all authentic hadiths, other compilers of Sunan books included many of them. Many long hadiths that were part of sermons were dispersed in other short contexts and narrations. There is no harm in abbreviating sermons, as what is important is their legislative content. If the description of the Prophet’s prayer and the text of the Farewell Sermon, which thousands of Companions witnessed, were only narrated by a limited group of them, then it is even more likely for this to occur with other sermons.
