What is the ruling on eating meat presented as a gift on the occasion of a country's national holiday, knowing that it is not intended to glorify that holiday, and what is the ruling on eating it if the intention is to glorify the holiday?

It is permissible for a prisoner to eat fruits and meat that have been ritually slaughtered (dhakāh) if they are gifted to him, as the occasion of Eid has no bearing on accepting a gift. However, he is not permitted to participate with disbelievers in their Eid celebrations, congratulate them on it, or glorify it. If the animal was slaughtered on the occasion of their Eid, the majority of scholars have deemed eating it disliked, either a prohibitive disliking (karāhat taḥrīm) or a minor disliking (karāhat tanzīh), including it under what has been offered to other than Allah. He must also maintain his remembrance of Allah (adhkār), prayers, and supplications.
