What is the ruling on supplicating that God grant another person from the supplicant’s lifespan, health, or beauty? Is this supplication permissible and does it occur? What should the supplicant do if this supplication recurs and he fears its occurrence? And must he ask the other person to supplicate for the return of these blessings?

These supplications fall into two categories: First, those that are uttered unintentionally, which fall under idle talk for which Allah does not hold one accountable. Second, those that the supplicant intends. In this case, the situation can be remedied by supplicating for oneself for a long life in obedience to Allah and a healthy body, and for others for provision, along with repenting from supplicating against oneself, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it.
