Is it necessary to renew the marriage contract due to the abandonment of some religious obligations at the beginning of the marriage?
The majority of scholars, including Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, are of the opinion that one who occasionally misses prayers does not become a disbeliever, but rather is subject to Allah's will. This is based on the Prophet's saying: "Five prayers Allah has obligated upon His servants. Whoever performs them... will have a covenant with Allah that He will admit him to Paradise. And whoever does not perform them... if He wills, He will punish him, and if He wills, He will admit him to Paradise." Therefore, your marriage is valid, and you are not required to renew the contract. What is obligatory upon you is to repent and make up the prayers you missed.
