Khalid ibn al-Walid, may Allah be pleased with him, was from Banu Makhzum, the maternal uncles of the Prophet's father, peace and blessings be upon him. He is Khalid ibn al-Walid ibn al-Mughirah ibn Abd Allah ibn Makhzum. The Prophet's two grandmothers, Fatima bint Amr and Sakhrah bint Abd, were daughters of Khalid ibn al-Walid's paternal uncle. Khalid also had a relationship by marriage with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was married to his maternal aunt, Maymunah, who was the sister of Lubabah al-Sughra, Khalid ibn al-Walid's mother.
