What is the Shar'i ruling on a wife's refusal to wear the niqab despite her husband's request, due to fear of familial and social problems, and her belief that it is not obligatory?

It is obligatory for the wife to obey her husband's command regarding wearing the niqab, even if her father objects to it. Obedience to the husband in what is good becomes more obligatory than obedience to parents after marriage. The situation in the country has changed, and religious people now enjoy greater freedoms, which necessitates hastening to comply with Allah's commands.
