Does the ruling for a prostitute differ from that for a woman who commits adultery out of lust, and what is her ruling in this world and the Hereafter?

The majority of scholars hold that there is no difference between a woman who commits zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) for a fee and one who does so out of lust without a fee; both incur sin and the hadd (prescribed punishment). However, Abu Hanifa was of the opinion that a woman hired for zina is sinful, but the hadd is waived for her due to a doubt (shubhah), because the contract of hiring is not a legitimate means to permit sexual intercourse according to Islamic law. It is considered void, like someone who hired her to cook and then committed zina with her. There is no disagreement among scholars regarding the sinfulness of committing zina for a fee; the disagreement is only concerning the hadd, and the majority of scholars believe they are equal in this regard.
