The recipients of expiations are only the poor (masaakeen), and the divine texts from the Qur'an and have affirmed this. Regarding the expiation for an oath, Allah Almighty says: "So its expiation is the feeding of ten poor people (masaakeen)." And concerning the expiation for Dhihar (injurious assimilation of one's wife to a forbidden female relative), Allah Almighty says: "then the feeding of sixty poor people (miskeenan)." As for the expiation for fasting, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "then feed sixty poor people." However, the recipients of are the eight categories mentioned in His Almighty's saying: "Indeed, [ prescribed ] charitable donations are only for the poor, the needy, those who work to collect them, those whose hearts are to be reconciled, freeing captives, those in debt, spending in the cause of Allah, and the traveler."
