The answer

According to the majority of jurists, it is not permissible to pay the expiation for an oath in cash, based on the Almighty’s saying: (Its expiation is the feeding of ten poor persons from the average of what you feed your own families, or clothing them, or the freeing of a slave. But whoever finds not, then a fast of three days). Therefore, whoever pays the value in cash has not fulfilled the expiation. Whoever has paid it in cash must pay it again in the form of food. It is incumbent upon a Muslim to personally distribute his or expiation to ensure it reaches those entitled to it in the prescribed manner.
