What is the ruling of Islamic law on naming a girl "Poliana"?

We do not know the exact meaning of the name mentioned in order to rule on it. It is preferable to use the good and well-known names among Muslims. It is not permissible to use names specific to non-Muslims, and the prohibition becomes stronger if they symbolize their religion or leaders. The prohibition becomes even more severe if it involves servitude to other than Allah. Names in Islam are important because of their impact on the named person's psyche. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, changed some names that contradicted the creed or were offensive. If the name is not offensive, does not contradict the creed, and is not a symbol of non-Muslims, then there is no objection to naming with it.
