What is the ruling on the mobile phone messages circulated at the end of the Hijri year concerning the folding of the scroll of deeds and urging repentance and fasting, and is fasting the last day of the year a Bidʻah (innovation) if it falls on a Monday or Thursday?

The Sunnah (definition) indicates that the deeds of people are presented to Allah for عرض (review/display) three times: daily, where the deeds of the night are presented before the day, and the deeds of the day before the night; weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays; and annually, in the month of Sha‘ban. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged increasing acts of obedience during these times of عرض, such as fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, and fasting in Sha‘ban. There is no শরী‘আহ (legal/religious) evidence to specify the end or beginning of the year for the folding of records or the presentation of deeds.
