What is the ruling on adhering to amulets, decorating homes, and traveling to answer invitations for Iftar in Ramadan?

Accepting an invitation to a meal is permissible in Ramadan and outside of it, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "If one of you is invited by his brother, he should accept – whether for a wedding feast or the like." It is permissible for him to accept the invitation unless it involves something unlawful.

As for decorating homes with ornaments and lanterns to welcome Ramadan, it is permissible, with the caveat that extravagance in this is blameworthy. Imam al-Nawawi considered lighting many extravagant lamps on certain nights a reprehensible innovation due to its corrupting influences, such as squandering money.
