Divorce in such a marriage is effective, whether it occurs before or after consummation. The documentation of the contract has no bearing on the validity of the marriage or the divorce. However, documenting the marriage contract in this era has become an urgent necessity, as neglecting it can lead to significant harms and the loss of critical legal rights, such as lineage and inheritance.
