What is the ruling on giving out Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of a mother who is ill with an incurable disease, and should it be paid now, knowing that it is not permissible to give it out after the month of Ramadan?

A patient suffering from an incurable illness may break their fast and feed a poor person for each day, and the amount of the expiation (fidyah) is one mudd of the staple food of the people of the land. As for Zakat al-Fitr, it is obligatory upon every Muslim, young or old, free or enslaved. It becomes due upon breaking the fast of Ramadan, and it is permissible to give it out one or two days before Eid al-Fitr. Whoever delays it beyond its legally prescribed time without a valid excuse is sinful.
