The majority of scholars hold that muwalat (consecutiveness) is not a condition for the validity of (ritual bath) from (major ritual impurity), and dividing the ghusl does not invalidate it. If a person washes some of their limbs and then stops, wishing to complete it later, it appears that repeating the tasmiyah (saying "Bismillah") is not necessary, because their action is a continuation of the ghusl they began, and the place for the basmalah is at the beginning of the ghusl, not during it. The basmalah is recommended at the start of every action. If muwalat is missed in ghusl, a new intention must be made to complete it, and repeating the tasmiyah is not mentioned in this case, knowing that the tasmiyah during ghusl is not obligatory.
