Is it permissible to perform ghusl from janabah in installments?

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that continuity (muwalat) is not a condition for ghusl (ritual bath), and this is the most preponderant view. Some scholars hold that it is a condition, even though the Hanbalis — who stipulate continuity for wudu’ (ablution) — do not stipulate it for ghusl. The preponderant view is that of the majority, because sequential order (tartib) is not obligatory in ghusl for janabah (major ritual impurity), and thus continuity is not obligatory in it, just as in washing away impurity.
