Is it permissible for a woman whose husband has died after the marriage contract but before consummation to leave her 'iddah (waiting period) to help displaced people as a volunteer in a charity, given the circumstances of war? Will her deceased husband be deprived of the reward of a child's supplication, and can her supplication take its place? Is it permissible for her to dedicate to him the reward of voluntary charitable acts, prayer, fasting, and Qur'an recitation, given that she does not possess money to give in charity on his behalf?

May Allah عز وجل improve your solace regarding your husband, and we ask Him for mercy and forgiveness for him. Dedicating the reward of good deeds to the deceased is among the things that benefit the deceased and whose reward reaches them. Among the best things that benefit the deceased is supplication (du'a), and their benefiting from it is a matter of consensus. The fundamental principle for a woman observing 'iddah is to remain in her home, and she should not leave except out of necessity, while observing staying overnight in her home and adhering to the rulings of mourning.
