What is the solution when the result of the sujud of seeking guidance (Istikhara) for the suitor indicates not completing the relationship, while the result of the sujud of seeking guidance (Istikhara) for the fiancée indicates completing it?

The suitor is a stranger to the fiancée as long as the legitimate marriage contract has not been concluded, and he should not speak to her without need.

Scholars have differed on what the person seeking guidance (from Allah) should rely on after performing Istikhara: whether it is a feeling of contentment, or the facilitation of the matter, or proceeding with the matter and not abandoning it unless Allah diverts them from it.

The most preponderant opinion is that the person seeking guidance should proceed with the matter after performing Istikhara, and not abandon it unless Allah diverts them from it.

Therefore, the suitor should not break off the engagement merely because he suspects that the Istikhara indicates a preference for breaking it off. He should not leave it unless he perceives a benefit in doing so.

If the engagement is broken off, do not grieve and have a good opinion of your Lord, for perhaps Allah will compensate you with someone better than him.
