What is the maximum length for the hair of the head?

It is recommended that a man's hair follows the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. If it is long, it should reach his shoulders; if it is short, it should reach his earlobes. There is no harm in lengthening it beyond that, but it should not lead to notoriety or diminish one's integrity.
