Is it valid to connect the fact that the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, only killed one man in his life, with the noble verse: “And We sent you not but as a mercy to the worlds”?

Allah Almighty says: (And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds) Al-Anbiya/107. So the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent as a mercy to the worlds, both their believers and disbelievers. For their believers, by guiding them to faith and their entry into Paradise. For their disbelievers, by averting immediate punishment from them in this world, which befell previous nations. Among what clarifies this general mercy is what was narrated from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not retaliate against the people of Ta'if who harmed him. Rather, he hoped that Allah would bring forth from their loins those who would worship Allah alone. The scholars have mentioned that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not kill anyone with his own hand except Ubayy ibn Khalaf in the Battle of Uhud, and Allah intensified his torment because he killed a prophet. This does not contradict that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent as a mercy to the worlds, for jihad and fighting the enemies of Allah was to spread the religion and bring people out of darkness into light, and this is the greatest mercy that people can attain.
