Abortion is forbidden at any stage of the fetus, according to the more preponderant opinion. She who undergoes it without a legitimate Shar'i excuse is sinful and must perform sincere repentance. She has also wronged the father. Part of complete repentance is seeking the husband's forgiveness, even with general words without mentioning the abortion. If she fears harm, then she should increase her supplications for him.
