Is it permissible for a Muslim man to marry a Christian woman with the intention of divorcing her, knowing that this marriage is disliked (makrooh)? And is a man's lust above a woman's dignity?

Scholarly opinions have differed regarding marriage with the intention of divorce. Some scholars permit it due to the fulfillment of the contract's pillars and conditions, while others prohibit it because it involves deception and fraud. This matter is not limited to Kitabiyyat (women from People of the Book) but also applies to Muslim women. As for the prohibition of divorce in Christianity, it is a form of hardship, whereas Islam legislated it as a mercy and wisdom when its causes exist, such as overwhelming aversion or infertility. It is a necessary solution to avoid a miserable marital life that could lead to sin, and to protect society from vices. It is akin to a surgical operation performed to preserve the rest of the body.
