Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to marry a Christian man, given assurance that this would not affect her faith, and how can they be invited to Islam?

Muslims have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim, based on the Almighty’s saying: (And do not marry [your women] to idolaters until they believe) and His saying: (neither are these [believing women] lawful for them [disbelievers], nor are those [disbelievers] lawful for them [believing women]). The reason for the prohibition is that Islam is superior and nothing is superior to it. A man has authority over a woman, so it is not permissible for a non-Muslim to have authority over a Muslim woman.

If a Muslim woman marries a non-Muslim while being aware of the ruling, she is considered an adulteress and is punished with the حد الزنا (hadd punishment for adultery). However, if she was ignorant, she is excused, and they must be separated without a divorce due to the nullity of the marriage contract.

A Muslim woman and her guardian must be cautious of this, and the Muslim woman is advised to cut off her relationship with this Christian man, as it is not permissible to have a relationship with a non-mahram man. If the Christian man embraces Islam by his own choice, then there is no objection to her marrying him with her guardian's consent, while advising her to choose a man of good character and religious commitment.
