What is the ruling on intercourse by rubbing the penis on the clitoris without penetration, after the cessation of menstrual bleeding and before ghusl (ritual bath)?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is forbidden to have intercourse with a menstruating woman until she performs ghusl (ritual purification) from menstruation. This is the view of most scholars. Enjoying the private parts of a menstruating woman, or a woman whose menstruation has ceased but she has not yet performed ghusl, is forbidden, whether through intercourse or otherwise. It is permissible to enjoy what is other than the private parts by placing a barrier over them, as Allah Almighty says: "So keep away from women during menstruation," meaning keep away from intercourse with their private parts. What has been mentioned is not considered intercourse.
