What is the ruling on someone whose father died while being angry with his son, knowing that the son was aware of his father's illness?

This is a grave act of disobedience. The son must repent sincerely and strive to be dutiful to his father after his death by seeking forgiveness for him and supplicating for him, so that perhaps Allah may forgive him.
