What are the Quranic and Sunnah proofs regarding love for disbelievers?

Hating disbelievers and not loving them is an obligation in Islam, based on His (Allah's) saying: "For Allah loves not those who reject Faith," and "For Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers." It is obligatory to disavow them and not take them as allies. However, this does not include natural and innate love arising from kinship or marriage, such as the love for a disbelieving father, mother, or wife. A Muslim may hate a disbeliever for their religion yet love them for their kinship, just as one may dislike medicine for its bitterness but love it for its cure.
