Is it permissible to add friends on Facebook who use names of musical bands or Western names?

Merely using names of musical bands or Western names is not a religious impediment to adding them as friends. However, they should be advised to abandon this practice, and it should be clarified to them that it constitutes promotion of falsehood, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." If evil or corruption is feared from them, then their friendship is not permissible, and a Muslim should associate with the righteous.
