What is the ruling on niqab if it conflicts with the ability to work and secure a decent life for one's parents, and is it considered an obligation?

Sound evidence indicates the obligation for women to cover their faces from non-mahram men. This aligns with the objectives of Sharia concerning modesty, chastity, and blocking avenues to temptation. There is no harm in working, provided the work is free from Sharia prohibitions such as excessive display of adornment (tabarruj) and free mixing (ikhtilat). A woman must fear Allah and adhere to His commands, avoiding His prohibitions, for this is among the causes of good sustenance and a pleasant life, as Allah Almighty says: (Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used used to do) An-Nahl/97, and His saying: (And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out. And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent) At-Talaq/2-3. It is not permissible to hasten sustenance by committing haram, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the Holy Spirit inspired in my soul that no soul will die until it completes its term and receives its full provision. So fear Allah and be moderate in seeking (provision), and let not the delay in provision lead any of you to seek it by disobeying Allah, for Allah Almighty’s blessings cannot be attained except through His obedience." Provision comes from Allah and is attained through His obedience, so seek permissible work.
