What is the Sharia ruling regarding the amount of arsh (blood money/compensation) for a facial laceration that is 12 cm long, and are we permitted to retaliate against the perpetrator, and what is your opinion on the Sharia committee that estimated the arsh at 1100 Jordanian Dinars?

The arsh for tearing facial flesh down to the bone is five camels. Some scholars have intensified the diyah for a facial wound that exposes the bone (mudihah). Retaliation (qisas) is obligatory for a mudihah by consensus, based on Allah's saying: "And for wounds, there is retaliation." The court demands either qisas or compensation, and forgiveness is better.
