Is it permissible to marry someone who has recently embraced Islam and conceals their conversion out of fear of their family? Is it a condition for the declaration [of marriage] to be in writing, or can it be in a country other than the person's country of residence?

Whoever pronounces the Shahada sincerely, adhering to the conditions and pillars of Islam, is a Muslim. If he dies after pronouncing it, he dies a Muslim, based on what was narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning the story of the Jewish boy who embraced Islam.

Accordingly, it is permissible to marry someone who has recently embraced Islam, even if he conceals his conversion. As for publicizing the marriage, it is a religious obligation, based on the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Announce this marriage." This announcement is sufficient for the validity of the marriage, even if there is no written contract or if the husband is in one country and the announcement is made in another. However, the husband's public declaration of his Islam is not a condition for the validity of the marriage.
