What is the ruling on a paternal cousin refusing marriage, despite his religious commitment and knowledge of the virtues of marriage, and his claim that the current circumstances of the Ummah are different from the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, especially since he suffers from childhood psychological trauma?

Marriage is the Sunnah (definition) of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and abandoning it out of disinterest is not part of his Sunnah, for he, peace be upon him, said: "Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me." The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade celibacy, dedicating oneself entirely to worship, and abstaining from marriage. He also did not permit castration to suppress desire. Therefore, it is advisable to remind the brother concerned of this and encourage him to marry with wisdom and gentleness, as long as he has the physical ability.
