Will my refusal to marry my paternal cousin, for whom I have no affection, be considered a sin for which Allah will punish me, especially since I know he wishes to marry me and I had a dream predicting our marriage, and my sister is trying to frighten me about this?

We advise accepting your paternal cousin for marriage if he is a man of religion and good character, in accordance with the Prophetic Hadith: "If someone whose religion and character you approve of comes to you, then marry him [to your female guardian]." Do not pay attention to visions and dreams. If your reluctance to accept him stems from feeling towards him as a brother, do not make your decision based on this feeling, but rather on his religion and character. However, if he is not satisfactory in his religion and character, then it is better not to accept him. We advise performing the Istikhara prayer and relying on Allah if you feel at ease thereafter, or refusing if you do not feel at ease, without sin. We also advise frequent supplication to Allah for success in what is good.
