What is the legal ruling regarding a man who commits adultery with a foreign woman, resulting in pregnancy, and then the fetus is aborted after four months with the woman's consent, knowing that he promised to marry her but cannot fulfill his promise due to religious differences? Does this entail blood money (diyya) or expiation (kaffara)?

Adultery is among the most heinous sins, and abortion is a crime. However, Allah accepts repentance if it meets its conditions. The expiation for adultery is repentance with its conditions: abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it, along with concealing it. As for abortion, blood money (diyah) or expiation (kaffara) is not obligatory except upon the person who directly performed it. For the one who ordered or incited it, their expiation is sincere repentance.
