What is the ruling on inviting a Christian to break the fast in Ramadan?

It is permissible to invite a non-believer to a meal if the intention is to guide them to Islam, or if they are a guest or in need, due to Allah's saying: "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." However, if their guidance is not hoped for and they are not in need, it is preferable to refrain from inviting them and to give the food to needy Muslims, as per the hadith (definition): "Do not accompany anyone but a believer, and let no one eat your food but a pious one."
