What is the ruling on money acquired from a suspect guest in a hotel, and how are the self and the money purified from it, especially if it has mingled with salaries and investments? Is it obligatory to donate it for the benefit of Muslims, and how is its proportion calculated in conjunction with losses in the stock market?

Accepting a gift from a deceitful person is forbidden, and one must dispose of it and repent to Allah. This is because such a gift is either in exchange for clear deception and false testimony, or out of a desire for future lies and facilitation of deceit and fraud. To purify the wealth, one must return an equivalent amount to the person from whom it was taken with your assistance or testimony, if known. Otherwise, it should be spent on general Muslim welfare.
