Does a suspended divorce remain effective after the wife is divorced for another reason and then taken back?

A contingent divorce is not nullified by another divorce thereafter, and the contingency remains. The spouses must work to preserve the family and avoid disintegration, and mutual respect should prevail between them, with each fulfilling the other's rights. Divorce is not the only solution to marital problems; Allah has enjoined reconciliation and reform, as He Almighty said: "And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause agreement between them. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Acquainted [with all things]" and "And if a woman fears from her husband nushuz [ill-treatment or desertion] or evasion, there is no sin upon them if they make terms of settlement between them - and settlement is best." Divorce is prohibited except when necessary, and one should not resort to it unless all avenues of reform are exhausted and cohabitation becomes impossible.
