Will Allah accept the repentance of a young man who committed many grave sins such as watching pornography, engaging in sodomy, slandering chaste women by imagining his female relatives and other women in pornographic scenes, and masturbating without caring about the call to prayer or the Qur’an, and then regretted what he did?
No matter how great the sin, sincere repentance erases it and restores the penitent as one who has not sinned; for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin." Allah Almighty said: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'" Therefore, one must immediately abandon sins, regret them, resolve not to return to them, maintain the obligatory prayers, increase in supererogatory acts, associate with righteous people, avoid bad companions, and strive in remembrance of Allah, supplication, and steadfastness in religion.
