What is the ruling on designating a room for prayer for all religions at the university?

A demand should be made for a mosque where congregational prayers can be established and which can serve as a Dawah ( Da‘wah ) center. In this case, it is not permissible to perform rituals of disbelief therein, for Allah Almighty says: "And that the mosques are for Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Allah." The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade announcing lost property, buying and selling in the mosque, and praying towards graves. However, if this is not allowed and prayer is performed in a public place, it is permissible to pray there, but with caution to ensure the place is free from abominations such as idols and revered images, and to avoid such places if possible.
