Do multiple talaqs pronounced by the husband, and the rulings that result therefrom, take effect if the husband intended divorce and prevention in one of them, and does divorce take effect by going to the uncle's house with the intention of obtaining it?

If the husband says: "You are divorced by a million [talāqs]," as an immediate pronouncement after having previously suspended a divorce twice, then, according to the majority of scholars, a triple divorce has occurred, and his wife is not lawful for him until she marries someone else. However, if he suspended a triple divorce on his wife going to a certain place of work, and then suspended it by a million [talāqs] on the aforementioned going, then, according to the majority of scholars, the divorce occurs as soon as she goes, and she becomes unlawful for him until she marries someone else. Nothing is required when suspending divorce on going to an uncle's house, because the marital bond is severed. There is also an opinion by Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah that only a single divorce occurs. Due to the complexity and numerous possibilities, it is advisable to refer to a Sharia (definition) court or to scholars.
