What is the ruling regarding a financially capable father stopping his spending on his children and wife, claiming that his daughter is working and spending on the family?

The father must spend on his needy wife and children. The wife's maintenance is not forfeited if she is self-sufficient with her own money, unless she is disobedient (nashiz). As for the children, the father is not obligated to spend on those who are self-sufficient. If the father refuses to spend on his needy wife or children, he is sinful, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is sufficient sin for a man to neglect those whom he is responsible to feed," and "It is sufficient sin for a man to withhold from those whose sustenance he possesses." It is obligatory to honor the father and accompany him with kindness, no matter how badly he behaves.
