What is the ruling on the participation of officials in engineering entities (governmental or private) in awarding work in exchange for splitting the profit fifty-fifty or by a certain percentage? And is that considered bribery?

It is not permissible for officials to partner with contractors who bid on tenders from their workplaces, nor to request or offer such partnerships to them. This constitutes a betrayal of trust and a violation of regulations, and it is considered prohibited bribery and gifts to employees. It results in corruption and the squandering of the rights of others. Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]."
