Is it more meritorious to donate to hospitals, build mosques, give to charities, or to individual beggars, and is a curse without mentioning the name of God, such as "May your house be ruined, so-and-so," considered a curse?

It is better to combine charity across various avenues of good, such as building mosques and hospitals, and giving to the poor. If this is not possible, then charity should be given where the need is greatest. A poor person who finds no one to give him charity takes precedence, and a mosque in need takes precedence over a poor person who is already provided for.

Giving charity in times of need is better, as Almighty Allah says: {Or feeding on a day of severe hunger} (Al-Balad 90:14).

The phrase "May your house be ruined" is a supplication that is not permissible against a Muslim, because it is an transgression in supplication and contradicts Allah Almighty's saying: {And speak to people good words} (Al-Baqarah 2:83).
