The suitor should convince his mother of the impermissibility of relying on horoscopes for marriage. If she insists on refusing, then her obedience is not obligatory in this matter, especially if her refusal is based on horoscopes. However, if the mother’s rejection is strong and might affect the relationship between the spouses or cause a rupture between the mother and her son, then marriage is not advisable at that time, because married life may not be stable with the mother’s rejection.
