One should investigate the reason for the parents' harshness and attempt to engage in polite dialogue with them, provided it does not lead to further harm.
It is obligatory to honor and be good to one's parents, even if they treat one badly, for that may soften their hearts.
It is recommended to seek a righteous spouse and to seek help from righteous women, as marriage may be an aid in solving problems.
Suicide is forbidden; it is a disease that leads to misery, wretchedness, and the loss of both this world and the Hereafter.
